    I barely play this game anymore cos it's stale, boring and somewhat broken. Cheating has not been a big issue for me, so even if there was a cast-iron guarantee that there are no cheaters in the game (making the game premium to play doesn't do that anyway), it probably wouldn't effect how much I play in the slightest.

    Then why you still here on the forums?

    Nobody Will Pay to Join. It wouldn't create enough revenue to call it revenue. 

    The games had thousands of players? Once they see that situation has changed they will return and people attract more people thats how it will grow 1 player at a time

    Changing to subscription base game? Have you seen the population? You kill the population and you only hurt legitimate players they 100% would quit. This won’t prevent cheaters, if they have the audacity to buy max rank accounts or recreate new accounts and continuing to re-sub private cheats what makes you think they won’t pay for apb subscription? 


     

     

    And for this reason i said there will be a community pot where we all donate to so people like you would be still able to play.

     

    $7.99 a month will hurt them? millions of people pay more for a battlepass.

     

    The population is at this state because of mainly the cheaters. Thats why when the cheater probpem is reduced the population will grow back bit by bit. 

     

    And there is only a few cheaters who are able afford new accounts and resub to cheats, the rest of them are broke, making new accounts, using methods to stay untraced so they can keep making new accounts and cheat again. Out of 10 cheaters only 1 or 2 are actually able to pay for all that.

    For a long time we have been struggling with the cheaters epidemic that is currently active in apb.

     

    Banning doesnt solve the issue because there is tools like "apb cleaner" and also deleting of log files that make a cheater less traceable.

     

    Cheaters who do this, avoid getting all their accounts banned and so they keep making and switching accounts so they can keep cheating.

     

    And apb is free to play so making new accounts to cheat is simply too easy. 

     

    To solve this, i propose we make apb premium only, players can only login and play if they have premium. This wont 100% hold cheaters back but it will reduce by atleast 60% and possibly even up to 75% which would make a great impact. 

     

    Goid things about it are:

     

    -more players will start playing

    -less toxicity in the community

    -silver and mid tier golds can finally enjoy the game without facing a cheater every other mission.

    -generate some income for LO, because they work on the game and take care of what they can which we should be gratefull for.

     

     

    Bad things:

     

    -some players wont be able to make a monthly payment for premium, but theres a solution for that too which is making a comunity pot to which we all donate so the ones among us who also love apb will still be able to play, im fine with giving 5 players a monthly premium. 

     

    - it might affect the population negatively but in the long run it will be worth it because when cheaters are almost all gone more people can actually enjoy the game which will make them keep playing which then attracts more people to play.

     

     

    And theres more goods and bads but you can fill out the rest.

     

     

    Maybe this could be a better idea for when the game is more stable and we have upgraded to 64bit so that players see more worth in for what they pay but i think it will stop most cheaters atleast, which has lots of good effects.

    Its true, most legit golds have left. Only a few are still playing. The rest of them came after the threat level merge. Which were just silvers but because the golds were mopping the floor with them, they couldnt take it anymore so they start cheating, which explains all the new random names with gold threat.

    At the end of a mission everyone's performance (i.e. your score) is put - individually - against everyone else's score. Each of those results in you either gaining threat or losing some.

    There's more to it, though. If your threat level is high and you scored better than someone who's threat is low, that doesn't automatically mean you gain threat if your score is higher. It needs to be significantly higher for that. How much exactly? That I don't know. But the game expects you to perform at least some degree better than a lower threat player and if you don't meet that expectation, you might actually lose some threat, while the other gains some.

    But wait, it get's more complex. As you play more and - at some point - improve less, you will meet the expectations of the threat-system more regularly. As this happens, it builds up a confidence-value. And what this does, is slowing down your threat-"progression". In other words, as confidence increases, threat-mobility decreases. A new player will have a confidence-value of 0, thus their threat swings up and down rapidly. A long-lived player will have a high confidence value and their threat moves like molasses. If the value reaches 1, you have to lower it before your threat starts moving again at all. This confidence value is also the reason why it is difficult to de-threat at first and then becomes very easy to gain threat again.

     

     

    The threat-level-scale is four colours (visible next to player names) split into ten levels each (nowadays these are hidden), or 40 threat levels in total. But that doesn't really matter, it's just a visual representation of the underlying glicko-values which the system uses. So a Silver 10 and a Gold 1 player can be rated at 1500 and 1501 respectively. For the matchmaking system, that's virtually identical. For players, it's worlds apart.

    As such, it does neither make sense to show players at which threat they are, nor to restrict districts to certain colours. Both undermine the entire point of such a rating system and make it either easier for players to manipulate it or harder for the matchmaking system to find appropriate opponents. The latter was supposed to be solved by dynamically moving players into other districts when they get matched with others (LO called this "phasing").

    You think i like being called a cheater or macro user or no recoil player. 

     

    It just hurts so much when you show the opp your skills but they still think they are better and will say that youre doing something thats not right, instead of saying, that was good, how did you do that. But in apb its never you right? Its always someone else in the wrong. Youre always right.

    Bro im reffering to the people who brought apb to its current state. It was just way more fun before. 

     

    And theres players who really love the game like no other, i swear these players been playing for 10 years they have been gold all that time and really give you a spanking when youre against them but they dont stream or make videos, they just love to play but become victim of these changes that are suggested by people who litteraly are no where near that level. And they still play even though when they games been gone through so many changes. 

     

     

    Lots of people have already left including good golds. The ones that are still there are the ones who actually love the game. And trust me them folks would never suggest a change thats only in their benefit.

    Works fine for me but for my opps.. they spam my whisper chat full with hate and when it gets too much they just quit the game. 😞 i dont like making people quit but i cant help it that the stun guns are so easy to use.

    you said let dethreaters be fasted up on, and i explained why that makes them turn in to cheaters. Which then becomes another problem. But then you take it in as im trying to show sympathy for cheaters by understanding them. 

     

    No lily i hate cheaters and dethreaters more than anyone else in this game because i love apb.

     

    But to solve a problem you must first understand where it comes from. Thats how you can move foreward. 

     

    Battling fire with fire doesnt stop the forest from burning down.
