    Why do ghostshots happen and how i found out what causes them :

     

    Alright so , i was basically trying to make a tap fire macro NTEC to see how fast the gun can be fired while keeping maximum accuracy , and i've noticed that whatever i did , i was having an insane ammounts of ghostshots when trying the macro on my clanmates, i then found this in a guide to make macros work properly on most games :

    This talks about the keyboard , but it also seems to be a thing for the mouse in APB, Basically what that text says, is if you don't hold your keys for more than 15ms  the game won't register it as it checks every 15ms if a key is pressed, but what i noticed with apb, is that for the mouse that delay is not 15ms but ~50ms which is considerably higher, what this means is , if you hold your shooting key for less than 50ms there is an aproximative 50-70% chance that you will do a ghostshot (which is actually hear your gun fireing, having the recoil of it, and seeing the muzzle flash, but not actually shooting a bullet server side)

     

    Before going further i want to say that i do not condone the use of macros, do not use macros, you WILL get banned if you do, im doing this for educational puproses and the sake of curiosity.

     

    In this video , i basically made two macros that does 3 shot bursts of NTEC to achieve maximum accuracy + maximum fire rate  with , one that holds LMB for about 1ms delay and the other that holds LMB for about 150-170ms

     

    The first macros with a 1 MS LMB hold , generates up to 3 ghostshots in a single burst

     

    The second one with a 170ms LMB Hold has no ghostshots .

     

    this shows that if you don't hold LMB for longer than 50ms it's basically a matter of luck if your shots get registered or not, the problem with this is that you don't even need to be need to be an experienced player to prduce a click that is less than 50ms , actually most people will without much effort produce a click that lasts less than 30ms . 

     

    So in the end, all of this shows that if you are, as an exmple tap fireing someone fery fast at close range, you are very likely to get ghot shots.

     

    Here is some more things i noticed :

     

    -Those type of ghostshots seems to happen mostly on automatic weapons

    -It can also happen with semi auto weapons, but is much less likely to do so

    -Shotguns are also prone to this problem, especially after switching weapons

     

    Now as i said above, this issue might be caused by APB running on directX9 which is a very old version of DirectX, as the engine upgrade uses DX 11 this problem might disapear or at least heavly be mitigated .

     

    So yeah this is it, please take all of this info with a grain of salt as the tests were done with onlt a few people, while all of them experienced the same results as i did it doesn't mean that everyone will, thanks.

    By the looks of it: the angle of the numbers alignment to the syringe casing and the boldness of the font makes me think this was edited on to the image, but it is such a small part of the image that i could be wrong... it is hard to tell.

    There is a lot of editing done to the website but while a all of it is deliberate, not all of it is significant but this is such a small details that it would be unnecessary to do if it didn't have some meaning.

    With that said, I don't see how this would tie in to everything else.

     

    It didn't before but it is meant to look like that now.

    and yes there have been multiple threads like this but hear me out. I tried to contact support but I can't log in since g1 requires my 2FA code (which obviously i don't have access to)

     

    miraculously i still have access to the forums but that's about it.

    so uh wyd? must i contact google? 

     

    should've used authy tbh 

    Next time save the private code and use "Authy" not google auth

    LO I really put alot of hope in you guys before I know developing a game like this isn't easy....but to be honest I'm losing that hope at this point...because believe me when I tell you the game was way better off when it was maintaining itself than it is now.

    A random jumble of letters outright told me that either the username or the password is wrong.

    Inputting 'cpritcher' told me that only the password (in this case, "32584") is incorrect.

     

    'cpritcher' is a functioning username. 'admin' is not.

    how did you found "cpritcher" ?

    Way back in the day when GamersFirst acquired APB and made it into APB Reloaded, myself and many others who were/are passionate about this game due to its unique gameplay experience, worked on a lot of feedback (some going above and beyond in terms of effort).     • Account-wide storage (Sending legendaries or mods to other characters on the same account is tedious as hell)
    • Add a delay/invulnerability when switching to a stage that involves takeouts
    • Better friends list akin to modern games (friend request, account-wide adding, etc...)
    • Better weapon sorting (Would love things to be alphabetical right now, but im sure the whole interface could use a revamp)
    • Bring back the tutorial district (or something similar)
    • Bring the district caps back up to 100 (50 and 50) -- Possibly higher OR implement some sort of cross-district matchmaking (sort of how WoW's phasing system works)
    • Change how yellow mods work: Either make them unlimited (no cap) or when you hit the cap, stop receiving extras (mail spam)
    • Different color 'tie' score screen (Green is currently shown for a win and a tie)
    • Eliminate client-side hit markets / blood splatters and other things that can mislead players
    • Ensure weapon reticles and such reflect a true accuracy
    • Fix objectives (vehicles) in vehicle delivery missions from exploding in certain areas when you enter their vicinity
    • Fix certain fence walls being unable to be shot through
    • Fix certain map geometry to prevent seeing/shooting through
    • Fix LOD on map geometry (certain walls, etc... disappear at strange ranges)
    • Fix progress on a point carrying over to another mission
    • Fix that one vehicle spawn in Waterfront that spawns vehicles facing the wall
    • Fix the game volume / VOIP -- Currently you need to turn your in-game volume to max and then turn APB down in windows in order to have both sound and the ability to hear others decently on VOIP.
    • Fix vehicle spawn areas so that, no matter the size, two vehicles can always spawn side by side
    • Gas Can 4 :classic_biggrin:
    • High res setting for primitives
    • Item jump/drop 'trick' -- This was fixed for heavy items years ago but not for medium items
    • Loose ping restrictions -- Boot players out of the district if their ping exceeds 300 for x minutes maybe
    • Make players have more HP or make guns do less damage/higher ttk
    • Make players sprint by default (same as the auto-sprint config edit) or give us a reason to need to 'jog'
    • Make inventories account-wide
    • Make "non-meta" vehicles viable --> Take something like the Han Veo and give it a bonus to radar (blue mod) range as an example.
    • Make currency ($$ / JT) account-wide
    • Bring back differences between both factions (restricted spawners, vehicle types)
    • Minimize 'cheap' hold areas and other supreme choke zones
    • Moar tickrate please
    • More control over our settings in-game to remove the need for tools like Advanced APB launcher, shader edits, etc...
    • More meaningful gun statistics (in-game) instead of the obscure bars we have now
    • News / updates 'panel' on the login / character select screen to keep non-forum goers in the loop
    • Only allowed to do ammo/weapon stuff at proper locations (ammo box or vending machine)
    • Overall fixes that make the game more consistent in its feel vs "Am I going to have bad hit reg this mission?"
    • Permissions system: Allow us to set permissions on our creations be they clothing or otherwise so other people can modify what they buy or obtain from other players
    • Possibly dampen the sounds of people outside of your current mission slightly
    • Remove weapon rank 16
    • Remove the 'rocket protection' -- When you aim over a car, even if you have clearance, your rockets will shoot off to the side to 'save' you
    • Remove the various district specific compat files from the official game. There is no need and it causes problems.
    • Return our precious bullet tracer effect
    • Revisit the threat system
    • Revamp the 'out of bounds' system by allowing non-mission players to reach weird spots if they want to (building roofs for instance) but force a respawn on them if they are in such a spot when a mission starts
    • Revisit equip times on certain weapons (I'm looking at you Silver Nano)
    • Save slots for loadouts (this might make some weapon switching unfairly quick? idk!)
    • Two equipment slots are still locked
    • Marketplace 20% tax
    • Vehicle carry limits
    • Revamp ram raiding

    my router have a custom firmware from the isp.

     

    they are blocking the "Port Triggering".

    DMZ usually exposed all ports to a computer behind the router, this means if the PC in the DMZ is broadcasting a service or has no additional firewall it will be visible over the internet.

    This can be a security issue.

     

    Depending on the router your options may be limited. (labelling may also be different)

     

    Virtual server configuration page?

    Custom server = call it something

     

    Server IP address = your computers IP, eg 192.168.1.2

    External port start = 1

    External port end = 65565

    Protocol = TCP/UDP

    Internal port start = 1

    Internal port end = 65565

     

    Do the same thing but for the other computer

     

    Server IP address = your computers IP, eg 192.168.1.5

    External port start = 1

    External port end = 65565

     

    Protocol = TCP/UDP

    Internal port start = 1

    Internal port end = 65565

     

    See if this works for both computers, disable the DMZ to test it.

    i have the D-Link G256DG

    and for some reason when i try to open the ports it says:

    External port end "65565" is invalid.

     

    Edit:

    port 65535 is working but not 65565, and i cant set the same ranges on both ip's  because it says "External Port you added has existed"

  11. Hey everyone!

    i experience some random disconnects from the game every 40 +- Mins.

    i found a solution that might help you, but...

    there is still a problem if you are playing with 2 pc's on the same router (please help me with that !)

     

    so the thing that solved my problem only per 1 pc, is opening a DMZ host computer feature on your router. i can say that this fixed it 100% for me.

    that feature does this:

    "The DSL router will forward IP packets from the WAN that do not belong to any of the applications configured in the Virtual Servers table to the DMZ host computer."

    it opens almost every port that exist on your router, and then for some reason the game is not disconnects anymore 😕

    i've tried to open some ports for apb but with no luck there, because there is no info about any apb port ranges.
