    Do you mean dirt or the exhaust fumes coming from the back of the vehicles and tires?  Thank you for the information, but I didn't notice any difference on or off the roads.  I have all of the graphic settings turned on and set to maximum. I'm not sure if it would make any difference, but i'm currently using a buggy.

    I tried this and it must be what it is. If I right click on my character, I get the popup with a few different choices. if I turn it off, it doesn't give me the popup anymore. Thank you

     


  2. Under the Options > General tab

     

    Vehicle debris  -  I'm guessing this turns off the broken vehicles / parts that we see along the roads or in the field, so we can't crash into them anymore.

     

    In-world Gear Popups  -  Possibly removes the chance of finding gears or armor/weapons while scavenging or looting chests and mobs?

     

    Would be nice if someone from LO could come in here and clarify these if possible

    I'm sad to announce that effective 10/2 (or there about based on when the event goes live), we will be taking the Fallen Earth servers offline.

     

    Unfortunately after weeks of monitoring things and getting players feedback, I have determined the current state of Fallen Earth just isn't sustainable in its current form.

    You guys have been very tolerant, but the player experience is terrible right now. It's laggy and buggy. Servers crash quite often, and stacking is still disabled due to exploits. 

    I don't blame the player base for the low concurrency numbers. You need a better game to play.

     

    For clarity, I am still committed to the new version of the game that we have been working on.

    However we are still very early into development, so there isn't a timeline I can provide yet.

     

    I want to personally thank everyone for their support over the last 17 months. Fallen Earth is still one of my favorite projects.

    I look forward to giving it the proper attention it deserves.

     

    EDIT: We will be turning on Commander for everything till the servers are turned off.

    It's sad to hear that you're shutting off the servers after all these years.

     

    On a side note. To give you an easier time porting everything to Unity.

     

    Decompile the assets and convert them over to unity.

     

    Or...

     

    Open the .bin file as a .txt with Notepad or use HXD to see everything in Hex. Copy/save parts of the code as Level0  Level1, globalgamemanager.assets, resource.assets.resS, sharedassets0.resS and the other file names. If you accidentally save the new files as a .txt file, change the extention and it should automatically switch over to Unity.   Don't forget to include app.info, boot.config or all of the Managed, Mono, Resource folders in the game folder.

     

    I hope the best for you and your team on getting the new version up and running in the future. When you do, I will be playing it again. 


  4. Approximately 9:30 Pm EST, lagging off and on.

    1:26 Am nodes started breaking in the certain way, that you can pick them 2x times "item overlap" as in my previous post. This only lasted about 2 minutes then completely stopped lagging. at 1:34 Am the nodes started breaking again. 1:42 they stopped breaking, but it's lagging again.

     

    If this helps any, one of the broken nodes is at waypoint  x4425164  y3370434. but when the server resets it will be normal again.


  5. Logged in at 6:12 Pm EST. No problems.  I don't see any lag at all right now either.

     

    Edit - 6:47 Am, I didn't really see much lag during the time I played today. I was afk a couple times though. I did however come across a couple "previously" broken nodes, so I'm not sure if it happened before I started playing, or during one of the times I was afk.


  6. 4:27 AM EST, the nodes are bugged in a way, that you can harvest each of them 2x, then they break and never disappear, but another node pops up beside the broken 1. You can do this until there are broken nodes all over the place. This has happened before. Something is definitely causing some type of respawn item overlap. (This only seems to last for a few minutes, but the broken nodes never disappear.) After daily reset, the broken nodes get removed.

     

    When this happened before, I also noticed that, after you harvest a Geology node for the second time in a row, it will show up as a nature node on the mini map "not strategic map" The geology nodes "coal" were in a cave, so I am not sure if this affects the geology nodes in an outside area as well.


  7. Currently, with how bad it's lagging. When I shift+click a node to "auto loot", the timer counts down and the window pops up, then it takes around 18-19 seconds before the window finally closes.  The items that I'm looting, haven't popped up in my inventory as of yet. This has been at least half an hour, so I would say that I am missing 200 or more items from the nodes.  They usually show up after a while, but it is taking much longer this time. This has happened before though, so I just continue playing the game anyways.

     

    Because there have been quite a few days that it has been lagging this bad, is why I am still waiting to redeem the 4 weeks of free commander.

     

    The lag does get annoying sometimes, but I have a lot of patience and I have played many other games that lag far worse than this, so it doesn't really bother me.

     

    A few days ago, I found an forum that was talking about the same type of lag happening in this game clear back from 2012, so the lag everyone has been experiencing, isn't anything new.

     

    9:26 Pm, a few of the items have finally started to slowly show up in my inventory.


  8. Approx 7:30 Pm EST, I got sent back to character selection.

    8:22 Pm  I got an in-game message saying,  Game is offline. All of the buildings and nodes disappearead right before I got the message.  It was lagging for a while before that. I relogged and im back in the game, but it's still lagging pretty bad.


  9. Random spikes of light lag most of the night until daily maintenance, nothing too bad from what I saw.

     

     

    Regarding the other replies, 21-23 hours ago, the game was most likely offline for "Daily maintenance" during that time. It's been starting around 7:20 Am EST or so and can sometimes last up to 2 hours. That's also why it's offline right now also (for about an hour so far), just incase some of you didn't know.

     

    If it takes longer than 2 hours, they might be working on something.


  10. Approximately 3:20 Am EST, The game was lagging while I was checking my mail for items that I bought from the auction. The items didnt show up in the letters I recieved, so I relogged to see if that would help. I opened the mailbox again and the game crashed to desktop.

     

    I don't know if it still gets sent to the same place or not.  I did click "send" on the crash report and I also kept a copy of the .dmp file if you need it.

     

    After that happened, I restarted the game and was able to get the items from my mail. It took a bit longer because the game is still lagging though.

    No. It was just the one time.

     

    I believe that if you activate Fast Travel during the time it's not working, when it does start working again, there is a chance that it will play "catch up".

    So wherever you are at the time, it will teleport you to the location you chose, while it wasn't working.


  12. No idea what happened here.  I tried to use the fast travel and it didn't work, so I drove about 9/10 of the way to the location I wanted.

    Then fast travel decided to teleport me to the location I chose and I got this message in my chat window.

     

    Timestamps are AM and EST

    After that, since I was at the other location, I had to run to the garage to get my vehicle back out, but it said I was still riding it. So, I used the "mount" option to get off it. Then I was able to tow and activate it.

    I said light to medium, because theres been a couple days over the last 2 weeks, that certain times, chat would take 30-60 minutes  "if at all" to show up


  14. Approximately 1:20 Am EST i noticed a small "jump" while my character was running, about 10 minutes later the game started lagging quite a bit. "broken nodes etc"

    1:51 Am, its slightly better, nodes are working again for now.

    1:56 it started back up a little. 

     

    Off and on, light to medium lag, as if something is either transferring data, or another program turned on and is using a lot of the power.

    Approx 2:10 everything seems to be fine again


  15. For the last few hours, garages haven't let anyone activate their mount/vehicles. Towing works ok though.

    Approximately 1:12 Am EST, everything is starting to lag very much. At 1:26 Am, the lag is completely gone. Garages still aren't working properly.


  16. Let me say this first.

     

    When it isn't lagging, it works great. I haven't really noticed any actual bugs in the game.  After daily maintenance, it may take a couple hours, clear up to 12+ hours before any type of lag starts. Sometimes everything runs fine for days without any problems at all.

     

     

    I have seen Three different "types" of lag in this game.

     

    One - This is your "standard" lag that happens in most online games from time to time.

              

             When walking or driving your vehicle,  it might jerk around a bit or possibly "rubberband". Different things may work slilghtly slower.  Mobs or NPCs may walk through walls etc. Random strange things happen.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Two -  This is what happens when there is a "certain type" of lag In this game. This may last up to 15 minutes, once per hour, for a few hours in a row, as far as I've seen. (Normally later at night or very early in the morning Eastern Standard Time.)  I'm begining to wonder if there is one particular part of the server causing this.

     

    Scavenging nodes - sometimes nodes won't disappear, the popup screen takes a long time, you may not recieve the item for a couple minutes but,  it usually will show up in your chat.

     

    Fast travel - Doesn't work

     

    Garages - You can tow your mount, but if you do, it won't let you avtivate it. You will keep getting the message (currently being parked, please wait)

     

    Login screen - Characters don't show up, so you wouldn't be able to enter the game.

     

    Chat - Goes very slowly, but sometimes private, or team chat is fine.  As far as I've seen, local chat always works fine.

     

    Vehicle or mount - May randomly disappear while you are on it. "This doesn't happen very often"

     

    Crafting - Items will not fully complete and stay in the queue list. (This is rare but, during lag type Three, you might recieve 2x of an item)

     

    Shooting - Sometimes your bullets hit the mob, but do nothing.

     

    Mailbox - Items do not show up, or will randomly disappear, (possibly because the server can't reach certain data)

     

    The forum might lag during or immediately after this.

    Three - This type of lag makes the game almost unplayable.

     

                Sometimes it will go away on it's own, or is fixed when "daily maintenance" is finished. Every once in a while, it will crash the server. Chat may take 10+ minutes to show up. (sometimes over 30 minutes, or not at all) Everything just drags along. This type also includes everything that happens in "lag type One and Two"

  17. The game was lagging bad from 4:30 Am up until daily maintenance started at 7:21 Am EST

     

    If the crafting window is lagging and you click "complete", every once in a while you will recieve 2x of the item. (A few people and myself have comfirmed this)

    Also, (while it is lagging), if you click Complete, the item shows "finished", but sometimes it won't switch to "complete" or remove that item from the queue. This may be why you could recieve 2x of an item, since the game thinks that item is still in the queue.

     

    In general, when the game is lagging very much strange things happen, if you try to move a stack of items, or sell a partial stack etc, sometimes it will completely disappear for a while.

    My personal example of this would be - I have 76 frayed cotton. I sold 20 to the merchant to split the stack. The other 56 disappeared, but I was able to "buyback" the other 20. After about half an hour, the other 56 finally showed up in my inventory again.
