Hey @Fallen Earth, I'm overdue for an update to you guys. We did a quick test on the Public Test world infrastructure that was promising. There are some clear issues that need to be worked out but progress is being made. The FE PT infrastructure was prepped during our last maintenance on Wed. @APB:Reloaded @Fallen Earth @Unsung Story Here is an updated list of our priorities over the next 3 months (I'm considering firing up my old Forum post thread so i can post updates every week on our progress)

• APB Cross District Matchmaking is #1 - Admittedly, this part of the game has been a rough ride. It is impossible to test without a large population. But I know testing on Live is a mess because it affects the core of the game in very bad ways when it goes haywire. We spent some time over the weekend going through logs, identifying issues, and putting in bug fixes. I think we found at least 3 critical bugs. Those are going to be tested on OTW first, and then CDMM will be deployed during maintenance.
• APB Latency is also #1 (different team) - We have some replacement hardware coming in, and then we'll keep debugging after that.
• Customer Support is also #1 (different team) - We are switching systems again. Zoho customer support is atrocious. Never again. Looking to have this resolved by the beginning of April, and then I'll start posting CS updates on the forums
• APB Anti Cheat is #2 - I know each day that goes by without a good Anti Cheat is awful. We did our best with SARD. Removing it is the best call, but it doesn't change the ticking clock pressure to get our own version up for testing.
• NY Data Center is #2 (different team) - We have a location / partner picked out for this. Need to get the timeline confirmed, but this is high priority.
• STFU Open Beta is also #2 (different team) - We have all the infrastructure back in place. Currently under going final testing, however, I think we have to bite the bullet and upgrade from UE 5.2 -> UE 5.5 to fix the last couple issues. It's a super big bummer, because that means having to retest a bunch of stuff, but I dont think it can be avoided.
• Fallen Earth Live is #3 - We started work to support the code changes, but CDMM + Anti Cheat became an "all hands on deck", so that got paused. I know you guys are waiting on this.
• StoneHold Closed Beta is #4 - There's a bunch of infrastructure pieces that need to be put back online, and we need to upgrade from UE4 -> UE 5.5 to support our newer systems. I don't see a ton of work here, but it's a bit further out.
• Unsung Story update is #5

As for the next 3 months, I think we'll get through everything APB, STFU, and Fallen Earth above. Anti Cheat will launch asap. Next big content patch may roll into the June 18 - 15 year anniversary. (redaguota)

I know the wait has been a bit long, and the situation has been somewhat confusing for some of you. In short, there was an issue with Little Orbit’s servers a few weeks ago due to an unannounced migration by their providers.

Since then, LO has been working to bring the servers back online. They’ve already secured a new provider and are in the process of setting up the new servers.

Two days ago, LO launched a test server for APB Reloaded called OTW, where they’ve been testing the new servers with the APB community.

Since the announcements specifically mentioned APB, I know many of you have questions about FE and whether it will also be returning soon. I personally reached out to LO regarding FE’s status, and they informed me that the FE servers will come back sometime after APB is back online.

For now, this is all the information I’ve been able to gather regarding FE. I know it’s not much, but I’ll keep you updated as soon as I learn more or LO makes any new announcements.

We know many of you have been waiting for an update, and we want to be as transparent as possible. As you’re aware, the recent downtime was not something we were informed about or given advance warning for, but we are doing everything we can to get the servers back online as soon as possible.

We are actively working with our service provider, and preparations are in progress. Based on the current timeline, we expect to have everything back online by Friday. This has been a difficult situation, and we know it’s far from ideal for anyone.

If anything changes, we’ll make sure to update you as soon as possible.

It's been far too long between updates, but as some on you may have noticed I made a post on Twitter on the 2 year anniversary of taking down the Fallen Earth servers. After that I posted again in response to a tweet.

While I should have posted that here to begin with, I am happy to confirm that "Fallen Earth Classic" is going to be a real thing. We are now at the very late stages of getting the servers back online, and as some of you on Discord have noticed, parts of the game are responding again. There will be an announcement soon on the day of launch, but before that goes out, I want to raise a couple discussion points here to set expectations properly.

1) I'm doing this in the spirit of fun and just getting the game back online.

There were decisions that had to be made in order to pull this off. As we go through the rest of my bullets, just know that in each case I had to balance getting this back online in a reasonable amount of time versus the laundry list of things I'm sure players would have wanted. We did our best. My hope is that players will enjoy the challenge of re-conquering the wastelands from scratch while they wait for the next version of the game.

2) Steam doesn't work right now

We are waiting on Valve to restore the old game. As soon as that happens, then we'll post an update here.

3) Previously, we had some major issues hosting the game.

Nothing changed here. Those issues are wide ranging. They include being forced to host on old, out of support 32-bit Linux servers, attempting to work around a horribly bloated database with item duplicates everywhere, and expensive external hosting costs. 

This time around, we worked through each of those issues as we built the plan for bringing the game back online. We successfully recompiled under 64-bit and we're using new operating systems. We also completely wiped the server. (SIDE NOTE: I sometimes refer to this as "servers", but only because the physical implementation of Fallen Earth requires more than 16 different services spread across a number of boxes). That means that you wont have any previous progression - including characters, items, or G1 purchases. I know that's a bummer. Trust me. We looked at other ways to do this, but many of them would have required a lot more work, testing, and time.

This is an experiment. We wont really know how the game is going to perform till we get a bunch of players online.

Which leads me to...

4) There will be no paid options for the game.

For various reasons, I don't want to monetize this version of the game. It is truly free-to-play (refer back to #1 above). I'm going to look at turning on the highest level subscription rewards for everyone, but there wont be any ability to purchase anything from the online store. 

With that out of the way, I look forward to seeing you guys online.

Duping:
Duping can be fixed easy I was a early beta tester for Emily and reported about 6 different dupes (for nothing never got fixed) it's simple Remove log out button (or add a huge delay to it before it exits), fix lag (upgrade host), add some GM's, remove shift splitting and lost+found and it would fix 99 percent of the issues, dupes.

Fallen earth 2:
This project clearly is never going to happen and if it did the game would be a quick put together unity game probably nothing like the original.

Pay Josh Strife Hayes $500-$2k and he would probably make a few videos about the game it's not hard to get players you guys (LO) didn't even try and advertise this game people can't join if they don't know about it.

You guys are setting on a fully setup game letting it go to waste enable the market and hire a full time dev for fallen earth. Forget fallen earth 2 just work on the OG game and keep it running like you are doing with APB.

I don't think fallen earth stands a chance not even reboot could save it. Theirs too much competition I've been playing pandora frontier, ghost of Tsushima, Elden ring. Online gaming isn't what it was and even if you spent 20 million on a game it wouldn't revive the game 500 max players would play and die off again over time all games do the same thing. It's 2024, ray tracing 4k everything and it's something little orbit is nowhere near. This game is for the old generation of players what are wanting something that died years ago % it's not going to happen close it down and stop folk wasting time on the dead forums. Start a new game folks loads of PvP games with lots of fancy new graphics and a massive community.

There are also items that was marketplace only...

Have to look after the ppl leveling and help em get to lvl 55. Reson the Kit was so sought after is pure storage and bag related....

People who want to play their old builds without lvling up new toons would just quickly respec a build to something specific they want and play around with it or like if someone melee and want to do quick dome grind he respec quickly to pistoler and then go back to melee instead again lvl up entire character and other stuff i guess

- Install VMWare player (free)  and setup a Windows Virtual Machine. You need ISO, so can use Windows Media Creation tool for simplicity.

- After Windows install power off the Virtual Machine, enable 3D Acceleration for that machine, power it on and install VMWare Tools

- You can get Direct X from Windows Download Center

- Install and play the game on Virtual Machine. With low settings should be 60+ FPS.

If you did everything alright, than Graphics Card on your virtual machine should show VmWare SVGA 3D

If you game doesn't patch and load, but internet connection presents on your Virtual Machine, then add Firewall Exclusion Rules for FE updater and FE client.

Game was tested to run on legacy Intel HD 4000, so it should run better on new iGPU, just problems with drivers+game interaction: it won't use iGPU for render, which is clearly seen on GPU performance graphs.

Hyper-V will most likely not work (GPU partition method should be slow for that card, and pass-thru is disabled i new versions, unless you hack it somehow)
Virtual Box will most likely work.
