I like how you said graphically, it reminded me of all those steam asset flip games which have 2-3 overly detailed models and everything else is pretty much without any details in textures painted with single color, even the ground.
Aesthetically it looks like a theme park in the video, bright colors or pitch black in random places without good contrast. Its kinda like wild animals, if its bright colored it means its toxic.
I like current maps with fall colors that look depressive alot more.
Is exactly why I made sure to split the two words. Graphically it certainly is an upgrade, but I really am not feeling the slightly changed aesthetic that is coming along with it.
Saturation and brightness really does seem to be an issue that cuts out any depth the old look has. One thing that I have especially noticed is the distant fog actually adds a lot to the look of APB in a subtle way, not really there with the engine upgrade. The current look fits the feel of APB far better than the shown in the previews regardless of the updated graphics. Additional foliage, adjusted materials, etc certainly does help but whatever they are doing with the overall screen space/lighting/shaders/bloom is having the opposite effect.
Would be nice to have editable shaders still around to fix some of it, but we all know how that went last time.
