An all-points bulletin (APB) is a broadcast issued from any American or Canadian law enforcement agency to its personnel, or to other law enforcement agencies. It typically contains information about a wanted suspect who is to be arrested or a person of interest, for whom law enforcement officers are to look.

Besides notoriety or prestige 5, this is not what the game APB is about at all, Talk about false advertisement. : (

If I recall correctly, they took the name from the Atari game once the trademark expired because it sounded cool.  Atari's game, btw, did feature actual APB's on every other level.

And nitpicking here, but "bolo" is used a lot more often by dispatchers than "apb"... at least where I live.

Apb or bolo, different words for the same principle.

I didn't know they chose the APB name because of an ATARI game. Interesting.
