So everyone uses snipers. I mean they're just great. But which is better scout or HVR? Scout has the sprint, jumpshots, and accuracy while moving. But the HVR has damage and can have mods (Besides the duck and reaper). But which is better? I personally have used both and I like the regular HVR better. Post whatever your mod setup is also.

I use a regular HVR with Tagger when I actually care, otherwise Scout because it's permanent, I don't need to re-lease it and it's near the top in my Locker so I don't need to hunt for it in weapon select to equip it.

I use the HVR because im not a jump shotting pansy.

It is situational, like every other gun I use. If the other team isn't doing well then I will go with the scout. If a lot of teamwork is needed I will use my regular HVR with tagger and rack up the assists. I prefer the scout for cqc but I have seen others use the regular HVR just as well up close.

People underestimate the value of tagger, especially in PUGs.

Just because it's harder, doesn't means you can't jump shoot with the regular N-HVR 762, and just because it's easier on the N-HVR 243, doesn't means you have to either!

Personally, I pick the N-HVR 762 over the 243 Scout on every situation. When handled properly, it can be used just as a Scout, but dealing a much bigger punch while at it.

I like to take out my regular N-HVR against jump snipers who can't hit a thing and swat them out of air like a slap from god. Both have their uses, and not just because of the jump shot thing with the scout, but I prefer the regular hard hitter simply because if you tag someone with that then they have to sit back and wait or they will be easy pickin's for anyone else around. Plus, much as I use to hate it, quick switching is probably one of those things that once you master it - you will be the bane of anyone caught out in the open.

And yeah I can jump shot with a HVR, hell i can even Shotgun my HVR.
In the right hands the Normal HVR will mostly always beat a scout.

one main reason is you have a ~13second kill window.
The scouts is only ~3seconds

The best HVR set up is HS3, CJ3, 3PS3(or tagger)

I personally like the regular HVR better. I dunno why, but it feels different when I aim than the scout.

Regular HVR FTW. My Scout misses... a lot... where I know I would have hit with the regular HVR. I don't have problems hitting my targets with the regular HVR. Slap on Fragile and you've got a semi-Scout that does awesome damage.

The scout is too easy for my taste, (even thou i have a duck, Reaper, PR1, RT1)

It's a matter of preference:

Scout: for those who prefer more mobility and can land the fatal blow fast (and who want to jumpshot )

HVR: Those who prefer to mod out their sniper (though the Reaper offers SOME customization for scout lovers,) and want higher damage over mobility.

Scout is not a sniper..Scout is a carbine rifle with scope on it for CQC..at least for me.

Scout is great for environments similar to fight club, where you need to remain active a lot.

But, the fact is that the HVR just takes someone out of action for so much longer than the Scout. You don't even have to kill the target to effectively remove them from the fight.
