Expansion of SPCA Mentor Program Now Available!

The plan is that when a Mentor or Core SPCI Member is free they will jump on one of the SPCA accounts and enter a busy district. They will announce their presence and offer assistance to any player who needs practical in game assistance with missions and learning about pledging to contacts, changing weapons, tactics and any other help they require. During the mornings (server time), mentors will focus on just playing missions and answering any questions that come up and will begin focusing more on helping newcomers as the server population increases
SPCA will also be announcing the names of the accounts (see below) that will be assisting players so that you can send them in game emails and add them to your friends lists. This will help you to see when they come online and also make it easier for you to send them in game mail to arrange a time to meet up with them.
Thank you for the support you have shown to the Team up to now and we hope this continues with this new endeavour.
Please also remember that SPCI recruitment is still open http://forums.gamers...rs-application/
SPCI continues to need more and more members with the Program extensions they currently have as well as to provide numbers for the future expansion that are being planned.
If you have any question or comments please contact Para on Para8818@gmail.com or GrnBeret2b on grn.beret.2b@gmail.com
To be a mentor you must apply to the SPCI Program by following the instructions on the SPCI Application post that is also pinned on this forum. This is the only way to firstly join SPCA and then be moved to the Mentor Team. No applications directly to GrnBeret and Para will be accepted. SPCI Members that are interested need to email Para and GrnBeret expressing this interest.

Seconded. Though I'm glad to see the SPCA is expanding, it's an excellent move.

I suspect most of your prospective players bolted shortly after launch, due to your inability to predict the core community handing these new players their virginity.
Its a brilliant idea, and a suitable expansion to what is at worst a vaugely useful help system.
But two people per server?
good luck with that enrolment system.

I feel like you guys don't even use the testers.
Last patch is clearly broken. Spoke to several testers, One of them said, paraphrased, we report problems, admins say they will fix them, and then it's released and the problems are still there. Been several patches that were released that broke the game.

I'm sure many a player are willing to show nublets the ropes of APB, but why make them jump trough hoops just to do that?
Better yet, why accounts? why not have clans flag themselves as "mentor" clans? New players get a list of such clans, and such clans are kept an eye on by SPCA. It's in the nublets best interest to quickly find a group of players to frequently play with, its how APB is best played, let them ask questions in clan-chat and shown around by its members, let veterans give some advice on tactics, do's and dont's etc...
I applaud G1 are working towards helping them padawans, but this mentor thing? Too much hassle if you'd ask me.

I don't quite agree with your way, but I too think it would've been better just implemented to the players directly some way. EVE had a pretty decent system with it's help chat.

You also have to realize it's alot easier to monitor a few people instead of a whole clan (an interesting idea, but I feel that would be alot of work to monitor a clan, not to mention all it takes is one wrong member)
