STAR LCR vs NTEC?

I do have a scoped NTEC... kinda a nice all-around rifle. I always thought NTEC was harder damage but only effective in short burst, while STAR were lower damage but longer sustained fire; anyone can help me understand those weapons a bit better? Thanks.

The STAR LCR is to the NTEC as the Colby PMG (post nerf) is to the OCA. There's absolutely no point in even owning one.

The PMG is extremely unrelated, I mean, the ammo nerf still allows you to kill 3 people without reloading and the reload is fast enough for it not to really matter...
It's just the FOTM UP weapon and people seem to be driven away from it cause it has 7 less bullets and isn't quite as effective at longer range... Because that really matters right?

It's more to do with the fact that the PMG was the alternative to the OCA. Now it's a direct downgrade from the OCA. Same could be said of the LCR and the N-TEC.
On topic. The LCR isn't that great. It gets beat by the N-TEC and Obeya in midrange and is worthless in a close quarters battle. It has great range, but it fires incredibly slow. It has it's own feel, but it doesn't have a place it belongs.

I have the LCR perm.
I dont know about you guys but the STAR is like the best gun for long range and pwns the ntec in long range.

The LCR, can do the same things as a Ntec(scoped), but it has way less bloom expansion plus upgraded damage to five shot kills. All at the cost of rate of fire, but usually full auto "slow" rate of fire is no issue (Does not jam up compared to Obeya).

Listen to this wise man. There is no "best" gun in this game.
But if you do want my opinion on this, I would take a NTEC any time over a STAR.

I like my LCR, because it suits my playstyle, but against an equally skilled player with Obeya or Ntec/Ntec PR1 at the same range it's ugh...
I can place two perfect shots on Obeya user, he'll turn to me and kill me before I can pump out the other 3 shots. That's the sad truth.
Also, situations that led to my victim running away from death are too many to count, because of LCR's speed.
If I had a choice between LCR PR2 and Ntec PR1 now, I would go for Ntec, with a great sadness in my heart.

At mid range i have no problems beating N-TECS and Obeya's either. It has superb accuracy, and almost no damage drop off. Due to no recoil/spread you can hold the trigger button and no real need to adjust your aim. It's pretty much a slower firing obeya without recoil and spread. However everyone is saying this weapon sucks, i think more people should use it because it does not suck.
But just like FirestarterPL said, in my opinion it fires somewhat too slow. because you can just have those few moments where you get outgunned where you should not have.
Edit:
Forgot to add, dont expect to be useful with the LCR when playing on your own. It's much more useful when you are in a group, as a support weapon.
@Ekatrinae
A STAR is not meant to pick off very well at long range. It's better suited at close and medium, in my opinion.

As for LCR, comparing it to N-Tec is wrong, as it would be like asking which one is better, OCA or N-Tec. LCR is purely a long range weapon and it does it's job viably, but the truth is that Obeya is still better, but it is more or less a bit OP, so I guess comparing to that is a bit meh. Closest equivalent would sort of be OBIR.
LCR is my go-to weapon when I need long range, mainly cos I love the weapon as I used it back in RTW 95% of the time I played. Yes, I would be better off with Obeya, but seeing that I main SR-15 most of the time, I don't want to use another semi-auto weapon.
LCR 5 shots up to 70-75m (70m according to my tests, APB DB says effective range 75m). 6 shots up to 90m and 7 shots above 90m. 5 shots come out in 1,2s which is indeed the slowest "normal weapon" in game, but it makes up for it by the extremely static TTK. There's no recoil control needed, no bloom, pinpoint accuracy.
Here is some gameplay to get an idea how the weapon actually plays in-game. First two videos are PR1, the third is PR2.

I got a kill from 50m yesterday where every bullet hit. I felt like an aimbotter. I literally did like 3 two shot bursts and the guy dropped in a split second.
I prefer the Star just because I like playing in that 10m-60m range. It is better up close than the N-tec, and if you are good at aiming and using cover, it can easily beat N-tec from farther distances.
Plus running around with the Star causes you to get 10x the hackusation whispers, which is great.
