Update July 15, 2011: We're still investigating this issue and therefore have decided not to choose winners until we confirm with a number of players. We know the delay sucks but we'd rather wait a few days and make sure everyone has a chance than screw over people who worked hard to qualify. We plan to do the drawing on Tuesday of next week.

Update July 14, 2011: Due to the fact that it seems there are some people who are not on the list that feel they should be, we're going to hold off on giving the Cowboy Hat and Whisper prizes until we get the list re-verified. SOOOO, the announcement of the 100/10 winners won't happen until tomorrow.

Update July 12, 2011: We're tentatively planning a maintenance tomorrow night (PDT). The weapon will be injected then. Additional prizes will come on Friday (for the top 100/10 peeps). This maintenance may get pushed however so please stand by.

Hey everyone,

Patch 1.5.2 is scheduled to launch in the next two weeks, and we want to get ready by stress testing the servers! So this weekend (July 8th – 11th), we're giving any player that kills 100 unique players a permanent Joker RFP-9 for helping out. All you need to do is login and kill players! Repeat kills of the same player will not count.

Health Damage: Low
Stamina Damage: Low
Hard Damage: Low
Effective Range: Low
Rate of Fire: Max
Reload Speed: Mid
Mobility: Max
Clip Size: 21
Ammo Capacity: 63
Ammo Type: Pistol
Required Faction: Both
Rating: 1

But that is not all, 100 players, who have killed 100 or more unique players, will receive a customizable Cowboy Hat! To stand out with your own, all you have to do is play!.



Finally, we're planning an extra special surprise for 10 players per world! In addition to the Cowboy Hat, these players will get a gift no one has - sneak peak access to a currently unreleased preset vehicle (a list of choices will be supplied) OR an unreleased vehicle kit (a list of choices will be supplied) OR a permanent Whisper PR1!

EDIT: Joker pistol worthless when you have a colby or act. 100 'unique' players will be impossible unless you constantly switch districts or you're not gold/high silver. Cowboy hack doesn't fiddle my flute, and surprise is k.

Anyway, Joker is pretty worthless compared to other guns... Barely anyone uses it.

But, still thanks for the fun event.

Nothing special, that mean that killing same player twice does not count. Unique - a player that you havent killed before(from the date the event started, not in entire playtime i think).

Unfortunately arresting does not work . We're planning to track more stuff *soom* but right now we can't see the arrests like we can kills.

This is correct. You have today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday to get to 100. It should be pretty easy. Most players kill that many players every weekend anyway .

Aw, i see... But hey! What if i arrest the player first and kill him after that? I dont mind the police battery demerit as long as i have all contacts maxed out and will get a point Crims deserve to die anyway

Joker pistol is surprisingly underrated. I explained to someone that recently joined how kind of crap it is, then proceeded to die from it a few times the next match. It doesn't have the range of the other pistols and won't hold it's own against the machine pistols under 10 meters but 10-50 meters it is a great tool for either bringing someone down that is compermised or finishing off someone at low health. The only reason I personally don't use it is because I've been getting better and close-mid range sniping with my HVR so all i need a secondary for is close range(NFA-9). I will definetely try to get the 100 kills this weekend as I just like having something permanent i can switch to if my guns run out and I don't want to buy new ones quite yet. Plus I want a cowboy hat.

Not trying to put down the event, but i completely agree. Being a R195 character, i have no need whatsoever to use the Joker Pistol.. especially since i can pay like 10k and get a Joker Pistol with an upgrade in it for 10 days. Im not a fan of the cowboy hat myself, and a surprise isnt worth my trouble given that i think it will be something just as useless as the joker pistol.

It's okay, we forgive you. Is this why arresting doesn't count towards MVP of matches either?

It won't be. I can't release what it is yet due to it not being fully approved yet but it is highly likely to be something you can't get yet...

I understand that it might take pretty a lot of time, but please, can you test it if possible? That will greatly help a lot!
