Best APB weapons & Modifications ?

Hi guys, I'am newbie here, I started to play APB in 1 of May, and I don't know what weapons are better, and what modifications are better too, depending on the weapon.

I have these weapons, and personally I think they all suck (ok, I suck too :) ):

  • Star 556
  • Colby PMG 28
  • Joker SR15 Carbine
  • Alig 762 (this weapon super sucks, maybe I need to modify her)
  • OCA-EW 626.1 "Sidewinder" (it have Magazine Pull 1)

About these 5 weapons who is the best?

And about all of them ?

My character don't have any modification yet, because I'm earning money to buy the better ones... but who are the best modifications I can have??

Public your opinions please, and tell me what APB weapons & Modifications are the best.

It's all about preference. Before you even rule out a weapon you need to figure out when they're good for certain situations. Then it's all about filling your niche inside of a group. If you go into a random pub match, check everybody's weapon and change accordingly.

It's all about situation.

I like the Joker and OCA most. With the STAR possibly getting a shout out.

damage wise snipers all the way, HVR= 2 hit kills or even one (depending if they are below 95%) and the dmr is a 3 shotter but of course if you go close range be prepared to get owned many many times over

  • For medium range?
  • For long range?
  • Against vehicles ?

Best mods for each one (if I'm not asking too much :P)?

  • For close combat - JG, NFAS, OCA, COLBY PMG, Joker Carbine
  • For medium range - ( Less than 35m ), Joker Carbine, STAR, N-Tec, OBIR.
  • For long range - N-tec, STAR, Joker Carbine ( Depends on the opponents weapon ), OBIR, HVR, DMR
  • Against vehicles - ALIG, OSMAW

Best mods for each one? Depends on the weapon.

Hm... dunno, I pretty much only use the SHAW LMG. If you are good at keeping your sights on the enemy in close combat, I've found that the SHAW usually wins in the confrontation... probably because it spits rounds out so friggin fast.

It's still good medium range. Long range isn't so good, but is very decent at providing suppressing fire. Also, it's great at destroying all manner of vehicles.

Still, it's all preference.

My favourite weapons are the JG, Ntec and Joker.

Joker is good at medium to long range
Ntec is good at all ranges(slightly too OP in my honest opinion)
JG is just awesome close range.

I also love using the sniper when the situation calls for it, its great with teamplay.

U crazy? For the past about week its all that I've used with the 15-round semi-auto pistol (whatever its called) and it pretty much dominates most of my games.

It is awesome for dealing with multiple targets in open space, clearing hallways, sneak attacks (if I get the first shot off without them noticing, I tend to win), suppression to allow teammates to flank while you're making all this noise, and of course blowing up vehicles. Plus, you never have to reload in a firefight.

I'll say that its certainly awkward to use because it sucks at very long range fights due to its inaccuracy as well as very short ranges because you have to hold still to shoot it. I can't tell you what to do in these situations other than to avoid them and have confidence in your sidearm.

I was thinking of going with range and accuracy mods for the ALIG (hunting scope, rifling, and something else) to let it duel assault rifles a little better. Then I figure optimize the FBW or Deagle for short range fighting with reflex sight and stuff.

Keep a HVR in the trunk though.

Best depends entirely on enemy setup and what the game gives you in terms of location. I am never stuck with 1 weapon for 1 mission. I constantly switch depending on the circumstances.

As for character mods...happy landings is the "best" =P

Get yourself an N-Tec and maybe a JG-840, then just switch between these 2 depending on what you're up against. Although you might want to have a good long range sidearm(for the JG-840 setup), like the Colby RSA. Good luck out there

N-TEC/CR-5 for close-mid range, may be longish range if aimed carefully and tapped fired.
ATAC for close-mid range, it is good on those ranges where SMG is far and too close for ARs
HVR (Scout and not) for long range, that 2 shot kill awesome... just need to learn how to use it well.
I don't care if he/ she is hacking ...

clearly stock OBEYA / Snub Nose Revolver is the best. or maybe PMG+PIG+PERCS :)

but really, to me it depends on the situation, but 90% of the time after trying part of a mission with a "situational gun" I end up switching to NTEC

im kinda liking the oscar way more now but like krikket said it depends on the situation .
against ntecs,hvrs i usually loadout

oscar(mods mp3,ir3)(close mid range )
act44 (long range )
+sprint shooting worked out allot for me

against close range weapons

ntec(cj or ir3 mp3 ,mobility sling)(close-mid range)
n-fa 9 quickswitch(close range)
+ shooting at mid range

Close - Shotguns (JG, NFAS, CSG-20), Sub-Machine (OCA-EW, OCA, PMG)
Medium - Semi-Auto Rifles (Carbine, OBIR, Obeya[OBIR and Obeya work well long range too]), Assault Rifles (N-TEC, STAR), Light Machine Guns (SHAW, ALIG)
Long - High-Velocity Rifles (DMR, N-HVR)

Of course most guns can be made to suit different ranges, such as the Carbine can be made into a short range weapon. Most guns can be made for different ranges depending on the user too, such as the SHAW made into a close range and N-HVR can be used medium range with skill.
If you find a gun that you like the look and feel of, use it for a bit and see if you actually like it.

But if the whole opposing team is using close range weapons and your teammates have short range, it's a good idea to take medium to long to outplay the opposition.
