If you find yourself asking this question, System Requirements Lab still has an entry for APB up and running. It will compare you against the RETAIL version of APB which should give you a ballpark guess as to whether or not you can run it. Remember, system requirements and performance will change leading up to and beyond the re-release.

Should SRL be giving you trouble, you can also use YouGamers as well.

Ok guys, you don't have to post your personal scores; this was more of an informational thread not a show off your system thread. Most of us have already played APB before so we know if our systems can handle it or not...

According to the website you got more then double what's needed to run APB Smoothly, guess that answers the question.

A good grahics runnigh smoothly definatly influences the User Experience more then a slow and sloppy graphics would.

so in my opinion there is nothing wrong about showing a computer, just dont say its the best in the world couse thats bollacks.

A not of caution, APB will likely run poorly on a laptop as hard disk speed is very much one of the deciding factors in performance. Most laptops still run 5400 RPM drives (right?) to save power, and that can result in some major problems with texture streaming.

With that said, there is a low-def client planned, so do keep an eye out for that.

I was tempted, but I'm going to leave it up, to prevent any specific threads coming up (for example: my XXXX isn't recognised, or is the XXXX GPU good enough, it's got... blah blah" etc.).

Firefox and IE both work. NoScript and ABP (Adblock Plus) can cause problems.

The XXXX isn't recognized won't be posted indeed. But I have a feeling the is this or that part good enough questions will be posted. I have observed something on the forums I have moderated in the past and in the ones I'm currently moderating which me and a few other staff members have dubbed "the sticky topic syndrome", a lot of people just ignore them. And the more crowded the sticky topic section gets the less chances people will read them XD

Will my PC be fine on lowish-medium settings?

I've noticed that A.V.A ( Alliance of Valiant Arms) uses the same engine (Unreal Engine 3) as APB, and I can play A.V.A just fine on medium-high settings with 30-60 fps at all times.

But, this is where my problem starts. I'm extremely sketchy about APB's system requirements. Just the bare minimum ( Quad core, 7800, 4GB RAM, etc) is already a bit too high. (Especially for a f2p game!)

Any who, I've tested my PC on CanYouRunIt, and it passes the minimum mark and is right next to the recommended mark but it doesn't pass it.

Yes, but part of the issue stems from the simple idea of texture streaming. Moving more quickly requires faster texture streaming which requires faster GPUs and RAM. On top of that, APB was pretty CPU intensive for audio if I recall.

APB started out as a retail title, not a Free2Play title.

Yes, I know it was originally a p2p game.

But, I still want to know if my PC will be okay at handling APB.

I wouldn't have thought so (depending how well G1 optimise the client and how well their "low end" version of the client works).

I used to play APB with an E6600@2.8Ghz, 4Gb DDR2 and an ATI HD3870 and it barely ran on lower than minimum (.ini tweaks) with all non-essential processes and services terminated (even explorer etc.). I was lucky to get 30FPS.

The "low settings" client might work though, I'm yet to hear much on that yet.

Sigh.. FML.

BUT, I'm NOT going to let that discourage me from at least trying to run the game. My hopes are still up for this game.

My laptop intel core2dou t6400, 4gb ddr3 and geforce 105m ran APB pretty fine(20-30fps) on low/medium as far i remember.
<1fps when explosions/fire and many people such as social district.

playable in terms of car- character- and clothing editing in social, action district play not recomended :)

Meh, I mainly want to play the game because I absolutely love Cops vs Robbers.

Don't get me wrong, I'll spend a lot of time customizing and all that, but I still want to actually play the game.

So, by my calculations, I SHOULD be able to play it okay on lowest settings with maybe a few on medium? I've heard this game is a CPU and RAM hog. I have a quad core @ 2.6ghz, w/ 8gb RAM.

I ran the game on a Pentium 4 HT @3Ghz back in beta. I really really REALLY advise against it. You'll be a sitting duck in CQB, you'll have to rely on your team a lot in those situations and you'll have to play as the SDM (Squad Designated Marksman AKA Sniper) most of the time (although personally I liked playing as the SDM). Apart from that you'll have a very hard time when soloing since you won't have people keeping the enemy occupied while you snipe them.

Get a better CPU if you want to enjoy the game, trust me.
