During the Olympics we have come across various issues and problems that we had to deal with. Certain events were more prone to exploiting than others; hackers made their presence felt by repeatedly force kicking players and of course lag.

At times we were just as frustrated (if not more, we have been preparing for these events for months) as the players who were taking part in the games. But we are determined to find solutions to these issues and move forward to prepare an even better 4th Olympics for everyone!

If you have won an Ultimate Wallet Point prize, you will receive an e-mail(Your G1 e-mail) with instructions on how to redeem your Ultimate Wallet Point prizes. Players will start receiving their prizes tomorrow.

Biggest Nub: xb4rtx2nd (now fr3akyn3rd)

Xb4rt only managed to get in 1 event, Excited Bike Challenge. Upon the start of the event, xb4rt failed to get his cycle moving, and stood his ground at the start line, watching the other players zoom by him for the entire race. After we were forced to restart the race due to shortcutters, xb4rt was ready to go! It took about 10 minutes and a kick threat for him to figure out how to reverse his motorcycle to the start line. After a good race and xb4rt coming in a close third he began whining that he placed 2nd. Apparently, on his screen that was what it showed, and thus should get 2nd. After myself, Rage, and Maximus all confirmed his standing, he continued to whine until we told him he would be kicked.

Prize: 13 dinar. Don’t spend it all in one place!!!

Most Obnoxious Nub in the World award: perfectz

Perfectz took part in the Gauntlet on UK and started off strong, tying for 1st with o0fattie0o and reafer104, killing only one person out of turn (nice!). Unfortunately, during the tiebreaker he managed only 1 kill, putting him in 3rd while Fattie and reafer went to a 2nd tiebreaker with 2 kills apiece. Before, we could start the tiebreaker, though, Perfectz began ranting and raving about how unfair the game was and that he had won thetiebreaker. You see, in Perfectz’s mind he had won the event, as he now had the same kills as the other 2, but less deaths, making his standing on the scoreboard 1st (ignoring the fact that 1 of his kills was disqualified). His rants caused mass confusion among the GM’s and players alike. We finally explained things to him, and he was quiet thru the tiebreaker. However, once we announced the final standings at the end of the game (he was third) his whining went into 6th gear, and he truly became the Most Obnoxious Nub in the World. After explaining what happened to him a 2nd time, he crawled back into his shell with a sheepish, “O, Ok thks srry”.

Prize: K400 Grenade for 60 days. Every time you play War Rock, log in, and blow yourself up with this. Thks.

We know you’ve been patient, and we’re pleased to FINALLY bring you third WAR ROCK OLYMPICS!

A big thank you to all War Rock players! Help us celebrate the 2nd Anniversary by entering in the War Rock Olympics! Prizes will range from Ultimate Wallet points generously given by Playspan, and Dinar, premiums and weapon leases from the War Rock team!

We've brought back some of our classic events like The Gauntlet, TAG and we've thrown in some new ones as well hosted by your favorite staff: Napalm, Silent, Pixel, Hyperion and Nemico.

Rules and Prizes

Prizes will be given out for First and Second and Third place in all the events unless otherwise specified. Prizes will include Dinar, Weapons, premium days and a few top secret prizes!

The majority of games will be held in Close Quarters Combat FFA mode. Several other games will require larger maps and vehicles, all rules for each game will be specified below.

Signups

Signups are simple – first come, first served. The game, room # and password will be announced on each server before the event begins.

Saturday 2/07/09

Games Played: Protect the GM, Capture The Nemico

Event: Protect the GM / Kill the GM
Map: Cloud Forest
Structure: Urban Ops, Team Death match – 24 Players
Description: The GM is the target for both teams. The GM’s team is charged with protecting him at all costs and by any means necessary. If the attacking team successfully kills the GM 5 times, the game is over. If the defending team manages to protect the GM successfully, preventing 5 deaths, they will be declared the winner.

Prizes:

Winning team, 1st place: 30 Days of L85A1 – $20 Ultimate Wallet points.
Winning team, rest of the team: 10 000 Dinar each + $5 Ultimate Wallet Points Losing team: 1st place - $5 Ultimate Wallet Points + 30 000 Dinar
Losing team, test of the team: 10 000 Dinar each.

Event: Capture The Nemico
Map: Bandar
Structure: Battle Group, Deathmatch – 32 Players
Description: One team will be defending the flag on the tanker “Nemico” the other team will capture all the other flags and then will fight to get on the tanker and capture the last remaining flag.

Prizes:

Winning team, 1st place: 30 days of Winchester + $20 Ultimate Wallet points.
Winning team, rest of the team: 30, 000 Dinar
Losing team, 1st place: $5 Ultimate Wallet Points.
Losing, rest of the team: 10,000 Dinar each.


Sunday 2/08/09

Games Played: Destruction Derby, The Gauntlet

Event: Destruction Derby
Map: Odyssey
Structure: Urban Ops, Deathmatch – 8 Players
Description: Each team has two Humvees. The team who destroys the others team’s Hummvees by ramming first, wins. NO WEAPONS ARE ALLOWED.

Prizes:

Last Humvee Standing – A Trooper kit of their choosing. (2 players)
Everyone else gets: $10 Ultimate Wallet Points.


Event: The Gauntlet
Map: Marien
Structure: Close Quarters Combat, Free-For-All – 16 Players
Description: In a game of 16 people everyone takes turns being a sniper and picking off the other players as they run through the streets of Marien. No other weapons or method of killing is allowed. The sniper with the highest number of kills wins. NO AUG!

Prizes:

The sniper with the highest number of kills: $20 Ultimate Wallet points, 30 days of AI-AW and 30 000 Dinar.
2nd place: $10 Ultimate Wallet points, 15 000 Dinar.
3rd place: 10 000 Dinar + $5 Ultimate Wallet Points.


Monday 2/09/09

Games Played: Sink The Hamina, I-Jump

Event: Sink the Hamina
Map: Disturm
Structure: Battle Group, Deathmatch – 32 Players
Description: 4 players on one team will occupy the Hamina, and attempt to defend it from the other team. Defending team wins if they keep the Hamina from being destroyed all game (200 kills). Assaulting team wins if they destroy the Hamina.

Prizes:

Winning Team: 1st place – $20 Ultimate Wallet points + 30 Days of L85A1
Winning Team: Rest of the team 10 000 Dinar.
Losing Team: 1st Place - $5 Ultimate Wallet Points + 5 000 Dinar
Losing Team: Rest of the team 5 000 Dinar Each.


Event: I-Jump
Map: Bandar
Structure: Battle Group, Deathmatch – 32 Players
Description: Players will be jump off the highest point of the yellow Crane, players who successfully hit the small boat parked below the crane on the sea will win rewards. Each player will have 1 chance.

Prizes:

Each winning player will win the weapon of their choice for 15 days.


Tuesday 2/10/09

Games Played: Excited Bike Challenge, TAG

Event: Excited Bike Challenge
Map: Odyssey
Structure: Urban Ops, Deathmatch – 8 players
Description: 7 man Motor Bike race around the track circling the map. The first 2 to cross the finish line will duke it out with fists inside the fighting ring.

Prizes:

First place: $20 Ultimate Wallet points + 50 000
2nd place: $10 Ultimate Wallet points + 25 000 dinar

All other contestants will win 10 000 Dinar each.

Event: TAG
Map: Karaqum
Structure: Close Quarters Combat, Free-For-All – 16 Players
Description: Only the player designated as “it” is allowed to use guns. All other players can use slot 1 only. The only way to become “it” is to kill the player that is currently “it” with your fists. A GM will start as “it”, don’t let him win!

Prizes:

The player with the most kills: 30 days of FAMAS + $20 Ultimate Wallet point.
2nd place: 30 000 Dinar +$10 Ultimate Wallet points
3rd place: 10 000 Dinar + $5 Ultimate Wallet Points

Medal Winners


Six total players will receive the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals (two gold medals, two silver medals, two bronze). One Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal will go to the European players and one of each will go to the US players. They will be chosen by participation and performance in the events, conduct in games, and helpfulness to other players. The rewards for each medal are:
Gold: $50 Ultimate Wallet Points and 100K Dinar
Silver: $25 Ultimate Wallet Points and 75k Dinar
Bronze: $15 Ultimate Wallet Points and 50K Dinar

Server/Time Information

As of now, The Olympics will begin on the following Servers and times and will run until all the games are completed:

Through Saturday Feb 7th – Tuesday, Feb 10th

Germany: 12pm PST – 1:30 PM

UK: 1pm PST – 2:30 PM

US East: 4pm PST – 5:30 PM

US West: 6pm PST – 7:30 PM

The times are subject to change without notice. Some games may run longer than planned. Format changes may or may not be broadcasted in game.
