Use of and participation in the Gamers First website and forums are bound by K2 Network’s Terms of Use.
Use of and participation in the Gamers First website and forums are contingent upon your acceptance of the following terms and rules. By participating in this community, you acknowledge your acceptance of these terms. Please make yourself familiar with the Rules (the text you’re reading now) and Guidelines before posting. Keep in mind that there will be NO CUSTOMER SERVICE offered through the forums. Do not make customer service requests via the forums as they will be deleted. The forums are here to encourage community building and for gamers to congregate and interact by sharing information and discussing topics of interest, media, etc.
These guidelines have been posted so that all participants of the Gamers First website and forums understand what is considered unacceptable behavior. Unacceptable behavior can and will result in a temporary suspension or permanent ban from both forums and possibly even G1 games.
Respectful Conduct:
This includes respect for your fellow forumites and G1 staff. The Administrators and Moderators work very hard for the community, so please respect their efforts. Disrespect towards Administrators and Moderators will not be tolerated.
• Not responding to or ignoring admin / moderator warnings will lead to suspension.
• Personal attacks and flaming are prohibited. This specifically means any text/post that is blatantly attacking another person on or off the site, especially in a personal way.
• Hateful speech (based on race, sex, creed, sexual preference, etc.) is not allowed.
• Typing in all CAPS is considered "shouting". It’s also obnoxious, so please don’t.
• Continued disregard for forum rules will lead to your posting privileges being suspended, or your account banned.
• Complaints about Gamers First games should NOT be posted on the forums. Any personal complaints either about Gamers First, K2 Network, or G1 Games should be directed to Customer Service.
Posting:
• Spamming the forums is prohibited. Spam includes “empty” or “+1” posts (see below, “Quality Content”).
• Advertising is not allowed, except of the appropriate nature within specified areas of the forum (for instance, Guild Recruitment). You may not advertise for any sort of business, financial endeavor, etc. If you’re not sure, send a PM to a moderator and ask for approval.
• Misleading topic titles or links are not appreciated.
• Excessive off topic posting will result in suspension. Please keep in mind that there are some topics that are not appropriate for the forums, no matter what the circumstances. The forums are not the place for individual conversations; please use the private messaging service for that.
• Posting topics in the wrong forum categories can also be considered being “off topic” – please post new topics in the appropriate section of the forums. Please use Search before creating new topics, or at least browse the first couple of pages of threads in a category before you post a new thread, in case it’s already been posted and discussed to death.
• Double (and M-m-m-Multi) Posting: The forums are enabled with an edit button. If you forget to add something to you post, simply use the edit feature. Comments such as "Sorry for the double post ...." will be deleted.
• Relevant Conversation: Keep in mind when posting that there is a time and place for most things. Please do not deviate from the forum's main topic. Topic hijacking (“threadjacking”) is not allowed. Topics / Comments with no relevance or purpose will be deleted.
• Quality Content: Only post comments and content that is relevant to the community. Posts that lack any substance such as "cool" or “lol” will be deleted as they are considered post spamming. Posting just to keep a thread alive is not quality content.
• Posting to bring a thread back after an extended period of time (“thread necromancy”) is permitted so long as there is just cause. Please let threads die an honorable death when it is time.
• The posting of illegal 3rd party sites is strictly prohibited and will not be allowed.
• Please DO NOT post links to hacks, cheats, or any resources for them. Don’t discuss things like private servers, emulation, and so forth except on a purely academic level.
Profile Rules:
All forum rules apply to profile information. You may not hide links to hit sites (ie. myminicity, where the sole purpose is to collect hits) by using misleading link text.
Personal Information:
Participants shall not post messages containing personal information including but not limited to full name, home address, email address or telephone numbers in the public areas.
Inappropriate Content:
Any use of inappropriate content is will not be tolerated. Any content that includes inappropriate content will be deleted. If deemed necessary by Gamers First staff, the user posting such content may be suspended or permanently banned.
• Use of inappropriate language will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, statements, images, usernames, and words that are sexual, vulgar, obscene, profane, defamatory, abusive, hateful, bigoted, or otherwise offensive to others; thinly-veiled obscenities (using alternate letters/symbols); harassment and verbal attacks intended to belittle, humiliate, threaten, or cause embarrassment to another Member; and material advocating or discussing illegal activities. Any attempt to deliberately circumvent the censor filter is prohibited.
• Posting of pornography, racist or otherwise discriminating remarks, threats to cause physical or mental harm, extreme offensive language, material that breaks any law or otherwise totally unacceptable posts or links to pages that contain the aforementioned material will result in an immediate suspension and possible ban from the site. Threats can and will be regarded as serious and may result in a report to local law authorities as deemed necessary.
Consequences: Breaking forum rules / community guidelines may result in various degrees of suspension and/or permanent ban from the community. In some circumstances, forum behavior may result in action being taken on your G1 account, including accounts specific to a particular G1 or K2 Network title. Generally, minor infractions will result in a short (less than 1 week) suspension and a warning note placed on your account; however, accrued warnings will result in extended suspensions and potentially lead to a permanent ban. Staff reserve the right to suspend or ban accounts at any time for any reason, and will be the sole arbiters of all issues regarding Gamers First content and community management.
Age Limit:
Due to legal conditions, K2 Network does not allow registration from any persons age 13 or younger, with the exception of COPPA compliant registrations (LINK TO PROCESS?). Any underage user discovered will be suspended. Falsifying information to circumvent this is not permitted.

RIGHTS OF K2 NETWORK / DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
K2 Network (and by extension, Gamers First) shall have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor content in order to respond to or comment upon communications by Participants and in order to determine compliance with the foregoing Community Guidelines. K2 Network shall have the right and sole discretion to edit or to remove any content which it finds to be in violation of the provisions hereof or which it finds in its sole discretion to be otherwise objectionable for any reason.
The opinions expressed in the message boards are not necessarily those of K2 Network. K2 Network is not responsible for any materials provided by users which are deemed harmful or offensive to others. K2 Network is not responsible in any way for any injury, loss, or damage which occurs as a result of an opinion expressed or information provided in these sections of the site. K2 Network is not responsible for the content of any sites linked to K2 Network.
K2 Network makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the content in any K2 Network site or the accuracy or reliability of any information or statements contained therein. All statements, advice, and opinions made by Participants on the K2 Network websites and forums are those of such Participants only, and K2 Network neither endorses nor shall be held responsible for them. |
